I thank you cordially for the loan of your horse
to M^rs Nicholas. She travelled thirty miles the first day,
27 the second, and 8 this morning. Altho' this journey
has not been severe, I should have detained him
for a spell of rest, had it not been for your urging
his return. I have [feed] Tom Dawson's vic[illegible]g[illegible]ent to lead
him down without riding him.
