In Consequence of an authority
delegated to me by Geo. Wm Fairfax I
hereby empower you to take upon your
self the management of and receive the
rents for the lands of that gentleman wh.
are leased out in either of the following
counties, Fairfax, Fauquier, Culpeper,
Berkely Frederick or Loudon.

The rents having been settled in money at
a time when our currency was of real value
I would recommend it to you by no means
to receive the rent at present unless the
tenants will pay you either in commo
dities at the rates they used to sell for in
gold or silver or give you as much of the
current money as will be equal to the
specie.

Where leases have not been actually
delivered to the tenants you will be pleas
ed to keep them in your possession until
they agree to terms similar to those hinted
at above.
