Letter from Edmund Pendleton on behalf of the Committee of Safety to Patrick Henry dated November 15, 1775. The Committee requests Col. Henry intervene to prevent private individuals from removing property from the Governor's Palace in Williamsburg. Patrick Henry was Colonel in command of the First Virginia Regiment in 1775. Edmund Pendleton was president of the Virginia Committee of Safety which effectively governed Virginia between meetings of the Virginia Conventions.

The Committee of Safety are informed that some persons are gone
to seise on the Gov^rs . property in the Palace for Injuries done them;
this we think improper for many reasons, & Particularly that his
can't be distinguished from Public property there. The Committee
desire you'l stop this proceeding until the meeting of the Convention
who may determine the propriety of the Measures upon the
Application of the Sufferers. I am for & by Ord'^r of the Commee
