President Andrew Jackson letter to Major William Noland(1837 March 11)

Jackson writes from Flintstone, Maryland, to Noland, Commissioner of Public Buildings, Washington [D.C.] concerning Jackson’s return to his home after attending Martin Van Buren’s inauguration, and the welcome he received there. He mentions his adopted granddaughter, Rachel Jackson, and grandson, Andrew; also, Eliza Violet Gist Blair, [Ralph Eleaser Whiteside] Earle, Dr. [Thomas Lawson], George Gibson, and William B. Lewis. Sends salutations to the new President.

Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767–June 8, 1845) was the seventh President of the United States.
