Safe conduct pass for two slaves to travel from Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Williamsburg. Signed by James Mercer’s steward, Thomas Oliver. Requests the slaves be afforded hospitality at inns along the way, as was the usual custom; reverse contains account of expenses.
