Military enlistment of Oliver Perley to serve as a soldier in the Massachusetts militia under Captain Francis Peabody “for the total Reduction of Canada,” dated May 5, 1760. Oliver Perley was born in Boxford, Massachusetts in 1743. He enlisted in the militia in 1760 for the expedition against Canada. In 1764, Francis Peaboby, Perley’s company commander, led a body of men to Nova Scotia where they founded Maugerville. Perley followed them in 1765.
